ImpulseObjects
Standard vs Licensed features
The Standard tier ships free with the module and covers the complete single-server S3 product. The Licensed tier unlocks more servers and regions, replication, migration, public buckets with CDN, and custom domains.

2. How to apply a license key
Section titled “2. How to apply a license key”- Purchase a license at impulsesoftware.com/modules/impulseobjects — one license per WHMCS install; current prices are on the pricing page.
- Your license key is in the purchase confirmation email and in your Impulse Software portal. It starts with
IOBJ-. - In WHMCS, open Addons → ImpulseCore → Modules & Licensing → Licenses. Paste the key into the ImpulseObjects row and click Save.
- ImpulseCore validates the key against the licensing server, records your WHMCS install’s domain (the host of your WHMCS System URL) on the first successful check, and caches the result for 24 hours.
- The license badge in the ImpulseObjects tab strip flips from grey “Standard” to blue “Licensed”. The Replication tab unlocks and the server cap lifts. Customers see the public-access, custom-domain and migration controls in the client area; replication and region moves appear too while Settings → Customer Features → Offer multi-region features to customers is on (the default).
3. What happens if the license expires
Section titled “3. What happens if the license expires”ImpulseCore re-checks the license daily and caches each successful check for 24 hours. When a check fails, a grace period starts:
- Licensing server unreachable (network blip, outage) — licensed features keep working for 7 days. Customers don’t notice anything.
- Licensing server answers that the key isn’t active (for example expired, suspended, or not valid for this domain) — licensed features keep working for 48 hours.
- Grace runs out — the install drops back to Standard: the licensed features above switch off in the admin and the client area, and you can’t add another server. Nothing is deleted — buckets, keys and data stay where they are, and the Standard features keep working.
ImpulseCore alerts you when grace starts, again before it ends, and when it expires. Renew at any point; the next successful check (or Re-check now on the Licenses page) restores the licensed features.
4. Migrating the license to a new server
Section titled “4. Migrating the license to a new server”License keys are bound to your WHMCS install’s domain and server IP address — the domain is the host of the System URL in WHMCS’s General Settings, not the web server’s own hostname. To move to a new domain:
- Sign in to the Impulse Software portal and open the license.
- Under Change domain, enter the new domain and click Update domain. If the server’s IP address changes too, contact support to update the IPs the license accepts — the portal shows them but can’t change them.
- In WHMCS on the new server, open Addons → ImpulseCore → Modules & Licensing → Licenses and click Re-check now on the ImpulseObjects row.
